Staff Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and execution of automated machine learning systems and foundational ML infrastructure.

• Make practical architectural decisions while developing production-level code.

• Convert vague business inquiries into clear technical roadmaps.

• Oversee the complete deployment of robust and maintainable ML products that are integrated into production systems.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Business teams to align technical strategies with organizational objectives and key metrics.

• Set model development standards through design documentation and peer reviews.

• Ensure reproducibility and integration with Data and Analytics Engineering collaborators.

• Manage the entire model lifecycle, from initial data design to long-term performance and business value realization.

• Mentor Senior and Mid-level Data Scientists.

• Develop data products that support growth, supply chain optimization, marketing attribution, customer acquisition, and churn analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering.

• High proficiency in Python and SQL.

• Expert-level experience with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.

• Familiarity with at least one major ML framework, like PyTorch or XGBoost/LightGBM.

• Ability to tackle unique challenges requiring conceptual thinking and broad impact.

• Demonstrated capability to influence without direct authority.

• Skill in translating complex technical concepts into engaging narratives for executive leadership.

• Experience with CI/CD and MLOps practices.

• Knowledge of managing the full lifecycle of models in a cloud-based production setting using AWS or GCP.

• BS, MS, or PhD in a quantitative discipline or equivalent field experience.

• Experience in building production systems that provide measurable business results.

• Preferred: experience in transitioning initial ML models from exploratory notebooks to reliable, automated production pipelines.

• Preferred: background in 1–2 areas such as customer behavior and propensity modeling, applied forecasting, optimization, or causal inference.

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without any restrictions for any employer.
