📋 Description

• Collaborate with data scientists, portfolio analysts, and subject matter experts to create and implement cutting-edge AI and analytics solutions.

• Design and execute machine learning, predictive analytics, and decision-support models to address portfolio and operational challenges.

• Create interactive dashboards, reporting tools, and data products that convert complex data into actionable insights.

• Investigate and assess emerging AI, machine learning, and agentic AI technologies relevant to pharmaceutical research and development.

• Work alongside Development, Portfolio Management, and Operations stakeholders to comprehend business needs and deliver scalable solutions.

• Contribute to the design and upkeep of data pipelines, AI platforms, and software products that facilitate enterprise decision-making.

• Advocate for responsible AI practices, model transparency, and continuous learning through experimentation and innovation.

• Develop AI agents for portfolio reporting, risk identification, and data reconciliation workflows.

• Create predictive and prescriptive analytics for portfolio prioritization and strategic planning.

• Build scalable data pipelines and ETL processes that integrate enterprise platform data.

• Assist in the design, optimization, and governance of Biogen’s Snowflake-based data ecosystem.

• Develop machine learning models and decision-support tools for resource forecasting, quality analytics, and operational intelligence.

• Enhance Project FORWARD capabilities by connecting data, AI, and workflow automation for effective portfolio management.

⛳️ Requirements

• This application is for a 6-month student position from January to June 2027.

• Proficiency in Python, R, or another programming language commonly utilized in data science and analytics.

• Strong foundation in machine learning, statistics, and data analysis.

• Familiarity with NLP, LLMs, generative AI, and their foundational methodologies.

• Experience with contemporary machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or similar platforms.

• Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data integration processes.

• Proficiency in SQL and experience with enterprise-scale relational and cloud-based data platforms.

• Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, or other modern cloud data warehousing technologies.

• Understanding of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling, star schemas, and best practices in data architecture.

• Ability to convey technical concepts and analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to collaborative work in a multidisciplinary environment.

• Passion for learning, experimenting with emerging AI technologies, and applying them to real-world business challenges.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

• At least 18 years of age before the expected start date.

• Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university, or skills program/apprenticeship.

• Actively pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or a related field.
