This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Develop and sustain automated metadata ingestion pipelines across various distributed source systems.
• Create API and connector integrations for new data sources and the delivery of data products.
• Strategically plan, organize, and implement integration tasks for data products throughout their lifecycle.
• Assist in building schema-translation pipelines alongside the Senior Staff Data Engineer.
• Connect the policy enforcement engine that enforces governance rules effectively.
• Execute policy-as-code and enforce attribute-based access control, including export-control and data-sovereignty compliance.
• Collaborate with federated IAM and export compliance architects to ensure the accuracy of enforcement logic.
• Oversee and handle the technical operations of data products, including monitoring, alerting, and ensuring pipeline reliability.
• Keep technical documentation updated for federated teams.
• Facilitate the 3–5 business-day certification and onboarding SLA by conducting timely technical evaluations of submissions.
• Adhere to architectural standards established by the Principal Data Architect in development.
• Identify and report standards gaps to the Architect with recommended improvement patterns.
• Contribute to the standard procedures for onboarding data products and maintaining the operational fabric.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with at least 4 years of professional experience, OR an Associate’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience, OR a High School Diploma with at least 9 years of professional experience.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Data Pipeline Engineering & Systems Integration or IT.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; GE Aerospace will not sponsor employment visas.
• Must satisfy U.S. Person status requirements for access to U.S. export-controlled information: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or granted asylee/refugee status.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government SECRET security clearance.
• Experience with hybrid cloud, on-premises, and edge secure connectivity along with secure data transmission methodologies.
• Knowledge of metadata-driven governance platforms and policy-as-code or attribute-based access control.
• Practical experience in pipeline engineering across ingestion, transformation, and orchestration in hybrid environments.
• Development of APIs and connectors for first-party, third-party, or customer-site data sources.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer, or Microsoft Azure Administrator or Developer Associate.
• Background in defense, aerospace, or other regulated or export-controlled data environments.
