Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable, dependable, and reusable data solutions.

• Industrialize and enhance dbt pipelines, transitioning data workflows from DuckDB to PostgreSQL while phasing out temporary PowerQuery solutions.

• Take ownership of versioning related to scope and constraints across data processes.

• Define and uphold data contracts with Optim-core.

• Establish reusable and scalable onboarding processes for new countries and business segments.

• Create and sustain data transformation workflows utilizing Python, SQL, dbt, and PostgreSQL.

• Contribute to decisions regarding data architecture, pipeline reliability, and engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to fulfill business and technical needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in data engineering or data-intensive applications.

• Proficient in Python and SQL.

• Practical experience with dbt, including building and maintaining data transformation pipelines.

• Familiarity with DuckDB and PostgreSQL, focusing on data migration and query optimization.

• Experience working within Azure cloud environments.

• Understanding of data modeling, data quality, versioning, and data contracts.

• Capability to design reusable solutions that promote scalability and maintainability.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the capacity to translate business requirements into dependable technical solutions.

• Experience transitioning data workflows from temporary tools to production-ready architectures.

• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and data quality practices.

• Experience creating reusable data processes for various countries, markets, or business segments.

• Experience integrating analytical data pipelines with downstream platforms or optimization engines.
