Staff Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop backend functionality for event-driven architectures utilizing message queues and pub/sub services, emphasizing robust data processing and file management.

• Efficiently handle simultaneous tasks in distributed systems through the use of asynchronous programming techniques.

• Design and construct data processing pipelines that integrate cloud storage, computing resources, and database solutions.

• Enhance application performance and scalability by implementing caching strategies, asynchronous calls, and minimizing latency.

• Create and develop serverless applications and RESTful APIs utilizing Flask or FastAPI frameworks.

• Adhere to best practices in cloud security, focusing on IAM, encryption, and network isolation.

• Establish authentication systems employing OAuth, JWT, or managed identity services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in Python backend development.

• Strong familiarity with cloud-native or serverless architectures, with a preference for AWS.

• Demonstrated knowledge of distributed systems principles, including event-driven architecture, message queues, and scalable data pipelines.

• Practical experience with asynchronous and concurrent programming methodologies.

• Excellent testing and debugging capabilities within distributed systems.

• Familiarity with GenAI tools or LLM-based frameworks, especially RAG or agentic RAG architectures, is advantageous.

• Experience in integrating LLM APIs into backend services or workflows.

• Knowledge of vector databases and embedding-based search techniques.

• A builder mentality: enjoys writing, troubleshooting, and refining production code.

• Team-oriented, modest, and receptive to constructive criticism.

• Effective communicator with the ability to articulate design choices clearly.
