Senior Elixir Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Engineering Manager while working alongside software engineers, architects, quality assurance, and product managers.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications using Elixir.

• Create, deploy, and manage high-performance, robust, and scalable APIs with Elixir.

• Enhance performance to boost system responsiveness and throughput.

• Implement API security protocols to safeguard data and systems.

• Define, design, and deliver innovative features in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Identify and address issues and performance bottlenecks within API and integration architectures.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation for API usage and system integrations.

• Uphold and advance best practices in server-side Elixir application design.

• Engage in architectural discussions and technical decision-making processes.

• Mentor fellow developers.

• Research, assess, test, and implement technologies to enhance application performance and development efficiency.

• Collaborate with external stakeholders to design effective integrations.

• Stay updated on Elixir trends, technologies, and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in software development, with significant professional experience in Elixir.

• A proven history of delivering high-quality, secure, and performant Elixir-based applications to production.

• Strong expertise in designing and working with RESTful APIs using OpenAPI specifications.

• Proficient in multiple database systems, primarily PostgreSQL, along with some experience in SQLite.

• Skilled in using version control systems, specifically Git.

• Experience in Agile and Kanban development environments.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and various architecture types, particularly AWS.

• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration.

• Experience engaging with external clients, partners, and vendors.

• Ability to consider multiple solution options during the design phase.
