Staff Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage systems within the payments team, primarily concentrating on backend tasks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and design.

• Engage in sprint planning, feasibility evaluations, and code reviews.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and testable code.

• Prioritize scalability, security, performance, observability, auditability, testability, and long-term maintainability.

• Contribute to enhancements in SDLC processes and engineering best practices.

• Diagnose production issues and provide prompt resolutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8-12 years of experience in backend engineering with a strong agency mindset.

• In-depth knowledge of backend programming languages, with a preference for Go or Ruby.

• Comprehensive understanding of the payments domain.

• Demonstrated experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Strong skills in API development, particularly with RESTful architecture.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Proficient in AI technologies.

• Familiarity with payment gateway integrations (preferred).

• Knowledge of PCI compliance and secure coding practices (preferred).

• Skills in performance optimization (database, code, etc.) (preferred).

• Experience with GCP or other cloud services (preferred).
