Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop a streamlined, AI-driven accounting function at n8n

• Oversee the complete procure-to-pay process in Ramp, encompassing invoice intake, coding, approval follow-ups, and biweekly AP payments

• Enhance AI-assisted coding, automation rules, and exception management

• Assist colleagues with inquiries regarding expenses, reimbursements, and corporate card issues

• Manage designated OPEX, card spending, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations

• Collaborate with FP&A on GL and cost-center coding, timely provision of financial information, and month-end closing

• Maintain accounting records, aid in audit requests, and document processes

• Utilize n8n, AI tools, and modern accounting platforms to discover automation possibilities

• Validate AI-generated outputs and ensure reliable documentation for stakeholders, regulators, and auditors

• Assist in scaling accounting processes across a growing multi-entity organization

• Potentially extend responsibilities into AR and revenue accounting

• Report directly to the Head of Accounting & Tax

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant GL and AP/P2P accounting experience

• Strong foundation in journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and reconciliations

• Proficiency in HGB or IFRS

• Understanding of invoice requirements and VAT principles

• Capability to recognize when to seek expert advice

• Enthusiasm for experimenting with AI and developing enhanced workflows

• Skill in validating automated outputs

• Proficient in using spreadsheets and accounting systems

• Keen attention to coding precision, data integrity, and financial controls

• Accountability for daily operations and follow-through on commitments

• Proficient communication skills in English

• Ability to collaborate across teams and support colleagues facing operational challenges

• Nice to have: experience with AI-native ERPs, Ramp or similar P2P platforms, Q2C tools, or n8n

• Nice to have: experience across multiple entities or within a global business

• Nice to have: familiarity with SaaS, multi-currency accounting, AR, or revenue recognition

• Nice to have: audit experience or relevant accounting qualifications

• Proficiency in German is advantageous but not mandatory

• Visa sponsorship is available for Germany; candidates working from other countries must have existing work rights
