This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Report directly to the Accounting Manager.
• Assist in the month-end close of the general ledger and prepare the necessary supporting schedules.
• Facilitate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes in line with Governmental Accounting Standards, US GAAP, internal policies, and PCAOB procedures.
• Aid in processing the payroll system.
• Manage the Deltek Costpoint timekeeping system, including user setup, ongoing maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare monthly general accruals and investigate any unrecorded liabilities.
• Analyze asset and liability accounts and record journal entries when necessary.
• Evaluate monthly expenses to ensure accurate recording.
• Create month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, and year-over-year P&L and balance sheet variance analyses.
• Prepare assigned monthly account reconciliations and address any discrepancies.
• Assist with requests from external and internal auditors.
• Help document processes, procedures, and related controls.
• Cross-train for other roles within the GOV Accounting team.
• Fulfill performance review and goal-setting responsibilities.
• Complete special projects and other tasks as assigned.
• Maintain focus, interpret data, solve problems, make timely workflow decisions, and apply established protocols.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
• Basic knowledge of US GAAP.
• CPA certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Experience in a public company environment is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Deltek and NetSuite financial systems is a plus.
• Well-organized with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
• Capable of maintaining confidentiality.
• Able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
