Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Prepare tax returns at both federal and state levels for partnerships and S corporations.

• As needed, prepare individual income tax returns.

• Conduct bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation for small to mid-sized business clients.

• Review activities in the general ledger, detect accounting discrepancies, and prepare necessary adjusting entries.

• Ensure accurate accounting records are maintained using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.

• Prepare and review payroll tax filings on a quarterly and annual basis.

• Manage assigned projects and accounting duties while adhering to multiple deadlines.

• Collaborate with leadership and colleagues on tax, accounting, reporting, and special projects.

• Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and support ongoing client and business requirements in a remote work setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in public accounting is required.

• Proficiency in preparing tax returns for partnerships and S corporations.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and the preparation of financial statements.

• Expertise in QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online.

• Experience with quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting.

• Ability to identify accounting issues and implement necessary corrections and adjusting entries.

• Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

• Capacity to independently manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines in a remote environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Client-service oriented mindset with a readiness to take ownership of assigned tasks.

• A CPA license or progress towards CPA licensure is advantageous but not mandatory.
