SRE Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee a team of 6–8 engineers

• Design, construct, and manage infrastructure across both cloud and hybrid settings

• Take ownership of networking, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and cost management

• Manage code deployment pipelines and automation, including feature flag systems and progressive delivery

• Establish and uphold monitoring standards for logging, metrics, and alerting

• Define service levels and guide incident response and management

• Participate in 24/7 on-call responsibilities as an engineer

• Oversee the platform security framework, including vulnerability management, patching, and upgrades of frameworks/dependencies

• Ensure compliance with programs that cover audit logging, data residency, and access controls

• Enhance developer experience through internal tooling, self-service workflows, and established processes

• Collaborate with software engineering and product teams to align priorities and sustain delivery momentum

• Manage hiring processes, interviews, offers, performance reviews, ratings, underperformance management, and career development

• Develop career advancement paths, growth plans, promotion cases, and mentorship opportunities for engineers

• Empower engineers with ownership and autonomy over their respective domains

• Make architectural decisions, review infrastructure code, and maintain close engagement with production operations

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as both an engineer and a people manager, or as a staff engineer providing mentorship

• Practical platform engineering or DevOps experience at a production level

• Proficient with CI/CD, cloud services, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code

• Proven track record of ensuring reliability in production environments, including on-call duties, incident response, and SLO management

• Experience in enhancing developer experience via internal tools, self-service platforms, or defined workflows

• At least 3 years of direct management experience with engineers, holding full responsibility for hiring, performance, and career growth

• Collaborative approach to teamwork

• Experience in a rapidly growing, global SaaS company is preferred

• Familiarity with network engineering and DNS administration is optional

• Background in security engineering, covering vulnerability management and upgrade programs for frameworks/dependencies, is optional

• Previous experience in regulated industries is optional
