Special Ops Physical Therapist, Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assess and treat patients with or without referrals.

• Refer patients to other members of the POTFF team as necessary.

• Provide care for musculoskeletal injuries in SOF personnel, including the ordering of imaging studies, laboratory tests, basic medications, and referrals to specialty providers, along with the required documentation.

• Directly oversee PT Technicians, PT Assistants, and/or Certified Athletic Trainers within their scope of practice when instructed.

• Participate in regular HP and POTFF meetings, identifying areas for improvement.

• Advise the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator on matters related to injury prevention, Sports Medicine, rehabilitation, administrative issues, purchasing, and fiscal requests.

• Conduct reviews of equipment, products, and literature.

• Provide contributions for necessary databases.

• Conduct peer record reviews for HP Staff as directed.

• Assist in the creation and revision of job descriptions and performance standards.

• Aid in the development and maintenance of clinical practice guidelines across HP Training Centers and related facilities.

• Support short- and long-term fiscal planning.

• Submit feedback to the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator.

• Document patient care in the Military Electronic Health Record and/or HP enterprise-wide database.

• Attend meetings with POTFF staff and medical providers.

• Adhere to company safety, quality, attendance, training, and other assignment requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.

• Must possess a Secret Clearance or have the ability to obtain one.

• Master's degree in Physical Therapy is necessary.

• Certification through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) as either an OCS or SCS, or certification through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) as a certified athletic trainer (ATC).

• Must maintain credentialing requirements in good standing at the local MTF.

• Ability to meet the physical demands of training with SOF, including hiking over difficult terrain, functioning in austere conditions, and observing SOF training activities.

• May be required to assist with strength and conditioning testing and training protocols and to lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 25 kilograms.

• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in manual therapy within the sports medicine field, working with individual athletes and teams.

• Proficient oral and written communication skills in English.

• Must comply with the Safety, Health, and Environmental plan, policies, and procedures.

• Must adhere to the Quality Assurance plan, policies, and procedures.

• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance.

• Responsible for completing all mandatory training.
