Special Investigator, LA & Sacramento

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations into low to moderately complex insurance fraud cases involving multi-line claims.

• Assess investigation assignments to determine if intervention is necessary.

• Identify evidentiary leads and apply investigative techniques to gather pertinent evidence and address fraud concerns.

• Create work products that can endure judicial and legal scrutiny.

• Coordinate with both internal and external business partners regarding investigations and matters related to insurance fraud.

• Establish and sustain connections with public agencies and other resources concerning insurance fraud issues and investigations.

• Serve as a liaison among the company, police, and fire officials.

• Build and nurture relationships with internal and external business partners, acting as a subject matter expert contributing to the detection of insurance fraud.

• Design and provide insurance fraud awareness training to internal and external business partners.

• Cultivate and maintain a significant industry social network.

• Support special investigations leadership in enhancing fraud awareness and detection efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in delivering customer-focused solutions, support, or services.

• Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations, which includes developing evidentiary leads, interviewing subjects and witnesses, and researching through internet and informational databases, including extraction and analysis.

• Strong organizational skills to effectively manage assignments and workloads.

• Excellent communication skills to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey the intended message.

• Proven presentation skills.

• Basic proficiency in using Microsoft Office products.

• Demonstrated comprehension of evidence, including types and rules of evidence.

• Experience working independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of logical and sequential thinking.

• A valid driver's license is required along with an acceptable driving record.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

• Successful completion of applicable background checks.

• Agreement to sign a non-disclosure agreement for proprietary information, trade secrets, and inventions.
