This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act as the primary educator for students, delivering instruction, support, and guidance.
• Oversee the educational journey for self-contained and ALT students in alignment with their individual IEP requirements.
• Track progress toward objectives and maintain accurate service records.
• Create compliant IEP documents, progress reports, and other essential special education paperwork.
• Collaborate with parents, colleagues, general education instructors, and learning coaches.
• Engage in annual IEP meetings, special education discussions, data analysis sessions, and Professional Learning Communities.
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.
• Evaluate student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies.
• Gather data and work samples to assess IEP goals and objectives.
• Document communications with parents, collaborations, and student interventions.
• Ensure the implementation of accommodations and modifications through assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible texts.
• Deliver special education services and support accommodations to facilitate the achievement of IEP goals.
• Promote inclusion and success within the general education setting.
• Maintain the grade book and contribute to placement and promotion decisions.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Foster positive relationships with families and provide timely responses to students and parents.
• Assist parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting matters.
• Support in-person student assessments.
• Must be a resident of Texas.
• Preferred qualifications include Texas Special Education and ESL certificates/licenses.
• Capability to collaboratively work with fellow teachers to analyze and present student data in numeric, tabular, and graphic formats.
• Ability to utilize student data to inform instructional strategies.
• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators.
• Willingness to adapt to changes to ensure optimal student outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for in-person student assessments, professional development, or other necessary travel.
• Ability to pass a required background check.
• Experience with self-contained and ALT students in the designated age range.
• Background in assisting adults and children with technology usage.
• Experience in teaching online (virtual) or in traditional classroom settings.
• Familiarity with an online learning platform.
• Position allows for remote work.
• Seasonal travel may be required.
