This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Effectively oversee instructional programs for students with special needs in partnership with general education teachers.
• Engage in regular consultations with learning coaches and students through telephone, internet, and curriculum resources.
• Involve yourself in all phases of the ARD/IEP process.
• Provide instructional guidance, virtual teaching, and general strategies for managing a caseload of students.
• Create, compose, and ensure the execution of IEPs.
• Assess tests and evaluations, complete progress reports, and hold parent conferences.
• Maintain communication with parents and learning coaches to ensure IEP objectives are achieved and student needs are met.
• Collaborate with teachers and coordinate specially designed instruction as outlined in IEPs.
• Deliver direct services to students, including through web-conferencing software.
• Plan, organize, and facilitate IEP-related meetings virtually.
• Take part in the school’s Student Support Team.
• Assist teachers and learning coaches in developing and implementing program modifications and strategies.
• Support with IEP documentation, paperwork, and procedures.
• Coordinate with HISD service providers for related services required by IEPs.
• Maintain precise data in the Learning Management System and special education platform.
• Aid in state testing and manage IEP-mandated special accommodations.
• Execute other responsibilities as assigned.
• Certification in Special Education (EC-12).
• Valid Special Education credential in Texas.
• ACP candidates pursuing an internship are not eligible.
• Commitment to completing a professional development course for online teaching that meets TxVSN criteria.
• Experience with policy (IDEA) and/or administration in Special Education.
• Strong technological proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google applications.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Customer-oriented mindset.
• High level of adaptability.
• Proven capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• History of being a collaborative team member.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing, state testing, and school-related events, which may include overnight stays.
• Capability to utilize a personal electronic device and email for two-step authentication.
