Spec-Driven Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Transform product and technical requirements into well-defined specifications that are ready for implementation.

• Recognize ambiguities, hidden assumptions, constraints, potential failure scenarios, and technical risks before the implementation phase starts.

• Utilize AI agents to develop solutions by offering specifications, context, constraints, and acceptance criteria, while guiding the implementation iterations.

• Review and validate AI-generated code and unfamiliar code to ensure accuracy, architectural alignment, performance, scalability, and maintainability.

• Design dependable backend components and data access patterns for systems at production scale.

• Confirm the effectiveness of solutions through testing, benchmarking, profiling, runtime metrics, and other pertinent evidence.

• Investigate failures and continuously enhance engineering protocols, tools, specifications, and instructions for AI agents.

• Assist in establishing specification-driven, AI-supported engineering methodologies at RedTrack.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive backend software engineering experience.

• Proven ability to convert ambiguous requirements into clear technical specifications.

• Strong grasp of backend architecture, databases, concurrency, performance, scalability, and handling failures.

• Capability to critically evaluate and reason about code, including code not personally authored.

• Excellent skills in testing, debugging, and problem-solving.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, and practices related to production engineering.

• Practical experience with AI coding tools or a keen interest in AI-assisted development.

• High level of ownership and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic engineering environment.

• Proficient in English for technical communication and documentation purposes.
