
Spanish Bilingual Certified Pharmacy Technician – Refill & Medication Adherence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee both incoming and outgoing pharmacy communications
• Assist in promoting medication adherence
• Help eliminate access barriers for patients from various backgrounds
• Manage inbound pharmacy inquiries and make proactive outbound refill and engagement calls in both English and Spanish
• Educate and assist patients throughout the complete medication refill process
• Coordinate prescription refills, which includes data entry and managing pharmacy claims
• Conduct prescription status checks and address adjudication or coverage concerns
• Act as a liaison among patients, pharmacists, clinicians, payors, and internal support teams
• Communicate with pharmacists and clinicians to clarify prescriptions and resolve any discrepancies
• Identify medications that need special handling (e.g., refrigerated or hazardous) and ensure adherence to proper protocols
• Accurately document and maintain records of patients, prescriptions, and communications across multiple systems
• Recognize recurring issues and trends, escalating opportunities for workflow or process enhancements
• Uphold strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations
• Engage in ongoing training, quality assurance initiatives, and professional growth
• Maintain flexible scheduling to accommodate the needs of health system partners
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is mandatory
• Active State Pharmacy Technician registration (can be obtained with national certification)
• Willingness to secure additional necessary licensure within an agreed timeframe
• Continued employment is contingent upon compliance with licensure requirements
• High school diploma or GED is required
• 1–3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred, particularly in:
• Management of medication refills
• Pharmacy claim adjudication and insurance troubleshooting
• Specialty pharmacy or complex therapies
• Collaboration with clinical care teams
• Experience in remote, call center, or high-volume pharmacy settings (considered a strong plus)
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Spanish is required
• Ability to clearly and compassionately communicate complex healthcare and medication information in both languages
• Experience supporting diverse or underserved patient populations is preferred
• Outstanding phone presence and patient communication skills
• Comfort with proactive outbound patient engagement
• Strong collaboration skills across clinical, pharmacy, and payor teams
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Quick adaptability to new systems, platforms, and workflows
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and multitasking abilities
• Empathetic, patient-centered, and culturally aware
