Sonic Audit Specialist, German

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Evaluate AI training data in German instead of generating it.

• Assess recordings of human or agent speech against annotator transcriptions.

• Implement standard error codes and determine pass or fail outcomes.

• Provide a brief justification for each decision made.

• Confirm that word-level audio segment timestamps align with actual word boundaries.

• Ensure that reference transcriptions correspond to the spoken forms.

• Adjust boundaries, split or merge segments, add any missing segments, and eliminate segments that contain no words.

• Assign every relevant error code.

• Prioritize the identification of critical errors to clarify reasons for failure.

• Complete a brief calibration stage prior to engaging in production work.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in German as spoken in Germany.

• Must have been born and raised in a region where German and this variety is predominant, or be fully fluent with five or more years of residency in such an area.

• Strong reading and writing skills in English.

• Consistent application of discipline in following rubrics.

• Excellent listening abilities.

• Capability to differentiate similar sounds and identify word boundaries in continuous speech.

• Previous experience in transcription, subtitling, localization, linguistic annotation, or quality assurance is highly desirable.

• Not mandatory but beneficial: experience in AI data annotation or model evaluation.

• Not mandatory but advantageous: a background in phonetics or linguistics.

• Not mandatory but helpful: familiarity with audio editing or waveform tools.

• Must be eligible to work as an independent contractor.
