Loan Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Identify and acquire mortgage leads

• Establish and nurture business relationships with real estate agents and other sources of leads

• Evaluate potential loan markets and create referral networks to discover prospects for loans

• Promote CCM products to individuals and firms, highlighting CCM services that align with customer needs

• Meet with applicants to gather information for loan applications and address queries regarding the process

• Assess applicants' financial status, credit history, and property evaluations to ascertain the feasibility of loan approvals

• Clarify available loan types, credit options, and service terms to clients

• Compile complete loan applications along with the necessary documentation

• Inform applicants of additional requirements to enhance loan applications and their supporting documents

• Address customer inquiries and respond to their requests

• Manage customer complaints and take suitable actions to resolve issues

• Maintain communication with the real estate agent or referral source

• Collaborate with processing and underwriting teams to resolve mortgage application challenges

• Stay updated on job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional literature, personal networks, and professional organizations

• Engage in mortgage sales activities, including closings, open houses, CCM seminars/trainings, and other lead-generating initiatives

⛳️ Requirements

• NMLS License is mandatory under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008

• Experience and/or knowledge of retail product philosophy, policies, underwriting, procedures, documentation, and systems

• Proven ability to proactively solicit new business

• Experience with Encompass is preferred

• Familiarity with mortgage products and programs

• Strong analytical skills to assess credit requests and identify trends in the marketplace

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

• Proficient in standard software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
