Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the technical discovery and qualification process for EMEA opportunities.

• Evaluate the suitability of applications, infrastructure, security, integration, and deployment.

• Create architectures that encompass cloud, networking, identity, integrations, data residency, sovereignty, and security.

• Provide demonstrations, proofs of value, and sanctioned non-production evaluations.

• Identify technical obstacles, dependencies, product deficiencies, and delivery assumptions.

• Collaborate with Platform Engineering on feasibility assessments and effort estimation.

• Assist with technical RFI/RFP, security, partner, and architecture submissions.

• Represent Second Front at customer workshops and technical events.

• Develop reusable demos, reference architectures, and discovery materials.

• Keep thorough technical notes on ongoing opportunities.

• Relay recurring field requirements back to Product and Engineering teams.

• Conduct technical handoffs to Platform Engineering, implementation, and delivery teams following a close.

• Collaborate with the commercial team and Head of EMEA throughout qualification, proposal, and procurement processes.

• Convert customer accreditation and security requirements into deployment timelines.

• Align engineering roadmap priorities with the regional customer needs and accreditation timelines.

• Mediate the resolution of technical feasibility and resource allocation conflicts between engineering teams and customer security officers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in a technical customer-facing position — solutions engineering, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical pre-sales.

• At least 2 years of practical experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience with containers, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, networking, IAM, and APIs.

• Proficient in scripting or software development.

• Capability to create credible technical designs without establishing unsupported bespoke commitments.

• Competence in troubleshooting technical issues across application and infrastructure layers.

• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.

• Fluent in English.

• Must possess the right to work in the EU and reside within the EU.

• Valid work authorization (residency-based) in your EU country of employment.

• Willingness to travel across EMEA.

• Preferred: prior experience in defense, govtech, or another regulated industry.

• Preferred: understanding of government or allied accreditation and certification frameworks.

• Preferred: relevant AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications.

• Preferred: proficiency in an additional European language.

• Preferred: experience in supporting partner/channel enablement with hyperscalers, primes, or systems integrators.
