Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable technical advisor, aligning customer priorities and technical needs with secure, scalable Cisco solutions.

• Drive cross-architecture strategies that encompass AI, Enterprise Networking, Service Provider, Security, Splunk, Data Center, Cloud, Collaboration, and Automation.

• Interact with customer technical executives, architects, engineering teams, and decision-makers.

• Convert business and operational priorities into technical strategies and cross-architecture solutions.

• Engage with new business lines and stakeholders to identify priorities and uncover opportunities.

• Facilitate customer discussions regarding AI strategy and AI-ready infrastructure.

• Collaborate with global and regional account teams throughout the Americas.

• Manage technical discovery, architectural design, presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept initiatives.

• Articulate Cisco's differentiation and business value while creating competitive technical strategies.

• Coordinate specialists, business entities, partners, and Customer Experience resources during the sales cycle.

• Advocate for customer priorities within Cisco and sustain strategic relationships with engineering, services, and support teams.

• Maintain expertise across Cisco technologies, leveraging industry trends, competitive insights, and AI-enabled tools to offer customer recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales engineering, technical consulting, or a similar customer-facing technology role.

• Proven experience in designing and positioning enterprise solutions in areas such as AI, Enterprise Networking, Security, Splunk, Data Center, Cloud, Automation, IoT, and Collaboration.

• Demonstrated experience in leading technical discovery, solution-design presentations, demonstrations, workshops, or proof-of-concept activities for large enterprise clients.

• Ability to translate customer business priorities into technical strategies and engage with senior and executive stakeholders.

• Willingness to travel within the Americas and participate in global customer or team meetings across various time zones.

• Preferred Cisco certification such as CCIE or an equivalent industry-recognized technical certification.

• A BS/BA in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.

• Experience in designing and positioning AI-ready infrastructure.

• Technical knowledge of Service Provider technologies and routing, including large-scale IP/MPLS networks, segment routing, or network automation.

• Experience supporting multiple large and complex global enterprise environments.

• Capable of managing multiple large global enterprise accounts and communicating intricate technical strategies across diverse cultures, functions, and regions.
