Solutions Architect – Public Sector, SLED

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the sales team to assist customers in understanding how Databricks can address their business challenges.

• Deliver technical guidance to customers for evaluating and implementing Databricks.

• Advise on big data architecture, execute proof of concepts for key customer initiatives, data science and machine learning projects, and confirm integrations with cloud services and other third-party applications.

• Develop and showcase reference architectures, instructional materials, and demonstration applications for customers.

• Establish expertise in, and advocate for, Databricks-inspired open-source projects (such as Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Koalas) within developer communities through meetups, conferences, and webinars.

• Travel to customer locations within your designated region.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting position.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and architecting distributed data systems.

• Proficient in programming and debugging in at least one of the following languages: Python, Scala, Java, SQL, or R.

• Experience in providing support to Public Sector clients.

• Proven track record of developing solutions utilizing public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with Data Engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).

• Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts (e.g., SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS).

• [Preferred] Degree in a quantitative field (such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research).
