This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Drive the technical and consumption strategy for intricate customer engagements, promoting platform adoption and revenue enhancement.
• Maintain senior-level technical relationships and provide guidance to customers regarding enterprise data and AI strategy.
• Lead sophisticated architecture engagements that encompass multi-workload platforms, enterprise-wide migrations, real-time systems, and AI/ML at scale.
• Act as a subject matter expert on the Databricks Platform, establishing a defined archetype, mentoring colleagues, and fostering horizontal impact.
• Formulate and implement competitive strategies that position Databricks against both established and emerging platforms.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including DSAs, SSAs, partners, and product teams, to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
• Mentor and develop junior SAs in technical expertise, customer engagement, and prioritization of use cases.
• Contribute to Field Engineering thought leadership through customer-facing materials, workshops, and community involvement.
• 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership, or a senior customer-facing technical position.
• Proficiency in coding at an expert level in Python and SQL; experience with Spark/PySpark is preferred.
• Successful completion of a live coding assessment and platform build during the interview process.
• Extensive knowledge in enterprise data architecture, covering distributed systems at scale, streaming/real-time, lakehouse design patterns, data governance frameworks, and cloud-native platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of the Databricks Platform or equivalent expertise in competing platforms with a demonstrated ability to learn rapidly.
• Defined technical specialization with recognized depth in the field.
• A proven history of driving consumption growth and platform adoption in large accounts.
• Capacity to influence directors, VPs, and C-level executives regarding long-term data and AI strategies.
• Experience in leading competitive displacements and conducting complex enterprise evaluations.
• Willingness to travel to client sites 30% of the time.
• Strong strategic thinking skills that link technical architecture decisions to business outcomes and revenue impact.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Databricks certifications are a plus.
• Previous experience at Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Google, Microsoft, or a leading data/AI organization is advantageous.
• Published thought leadership is a bonus.
• Industry-specific expertise in telecommunications is beneficial.
