Solutions Architect, Defence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Cultivate an in-depth understanding of customer challenges and align them with Cohere solutions.

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor and manage technical relationships with stakeholders.

• Enhance the adoption of Cohere products both internally and externally.

• Collect customer insights and feedback to inform the development of future products.

• Lead the design and execution of customer pilots for key enterprise and government clients.

• Own the customer technical narrative from discovery and architecture to pilot results and business justification.

• Provide structured customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams.

• Lead technical discussions during customer calls.

• Design enterprise architectures for on-premises, air-gapped, and sovereign cloud deployments that comply with German and EU regulations.

• Create designs for classified and disconnected environments, including VS-NfD, DDIL, and tactical edge scenarios.

• Conduct in-depth technical explorations on customer inquiries and Cohere technology.

• Collaborate with customer executives to prioritize use cases, define success metrics, and develop AI adoption business cases.

• Convert defense and operational requirements into AI use cases.

• Facilitate customer evaluations and pilots within the customer's technology ecosystems.

• Manage technical responses to RFPs and public tenders, including defense procurement processes.

• Develop and document scalable processes for the solutions architect and related teams.

• Work in conjunction with Product and Engineering teams to ensure offerings meet customer needs.

• Collaborate with system integrators, defense enterprises, and sovereign cloud providers to enable and expedite customer solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in customer-facing technical positions such as consulting data scientist, forward-deployed engineer, deployment strategist, or solutions architect.

• Proven experience in taking AI or data solutions from executive problem formulation to production implementation.

• Strong interest in Agentic AI and a practical understanding of where LLMs provide value in production settings.

• Solid foundation in machine learning fundamentals, including training, evaluation, and retrieval processes.

• Capability to design evaluation frameworks for customer pilots.

• Exceptional communication skills for both technical and executive audiences.

• Ability to excel in ambiguous situations and establish impactful structures and processes.

• Proficient in Python and familiar with Assistive Coding tools.

• Experience with the defense sector, including organizations like the Bundeswehr, defense companies, federal IT, or NATO.

• Comprehensive understanding of how defense organizations procure and manage IT solutions.

• Must be eligible and willing to obtain German security clearance under the SÜG, Ü2, or higher.

• Professional fluency in English and German (C1 or higher, negotiation level).

• Previous experience in the German defense market or with RFPs and public tenders is preferred.
