This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a senior technical representative for federal clients, partnering teams, and cloud provider field groups.
• Stay well-versed in FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, RMF/ATO, and federal Zero Trust standards.
• Establish and sustain relationships with AWS, Microsoft, and Google public sector partner organizations.
• Lead or contribute to the technical cloud architecture sections of RFP, RFI, RFQ, and sources-sought submissions.
• Create technical volumes, architecture diagrams, transition plans, and management approach sections.
• Convert agency requirements into robust technical solutions with distinct differentiators.
• Generate basis-of-estimate inputs, level-of-effort assumptions, and cloud cost models.
• Engage in Pink, Red, and Gold Team reviews, integrating feedback effectively.
• Assist in oral presentations and technical Q&A sessions with agency evaluators.
• Develop reusable reference architectures, technical case studies, solution modules, and past-performance materials.
• Define, construct, and showcase working proofs of concept and pilots in federal cloud environments.
• Implement infrastructure as code, containerized workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and data or AI/ML pipelines.
• Facilitate technical discovery sessions and whiteboard workshops with client architects and agency leaders.
• Assess prototypes for security, data protection, cost efficiency, and operational viability.
• Document POC results for future proposals or task orders.
• Transition successful prototypes to delivery teams, providing architecture documentation, runbooks, and tidy IaC repositories.
• Manage solutions comprehensively as a senior individual contributor without direct reports.
• Travel around 10%, including visits to Falls Church, Virginia, as necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 15 years of experience in cloud architecture, engineering, or technical presales.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting federal government clients or federal contracts.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS or Azure, particularly in federal regions.
• Direct involvement in contributing technical content to federal proposals and familiarity with evaluation factors.
• Practical knowledge of infrastructure as code, including Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or similar tools.
• Experience with container technologies and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Working understanding of FedRAMP and the ATO process.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with all levels of staff, business owners, and clients.
• Work visa sponsorship is not available.
• Preferred: professional-level cloud certification, such as AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
• Preferred: security certification such as CISSP, CCSP, or similar.
• Preferred: experience with Google Cloud, especially Assured Workloads or other federal-eligible configurations.
• Preferred: hands-on experience in designing or prototyping modern data, AI/ML, or Generative AI solutions.
• Preferred: familiarity with federal contract vehicles and task-order competitions.
• Preferred: knowledge of Shipley or a comparable capture and proposal methodology.
• Preferred: previous experience at a systems integrator or cloud provider within the public sector.
• Preferred: strong backend skills in Node/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, or C#, and REST APIs.
