Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete technical strategy for accounts, from initial discovery to production deployment and growth in consumption.

• Lead intricate architecture discussions and design scalable, production-ready solutions that encompass data engineering, ML/AI, and real-time analytics.

• Act as a reliable technical advisor to customer architects, engineering leads, and Directors.

• Drive technical victories in competitive environments by showcasing Databricks' unique offerings through custom solutions.

• Establish and declare an emerging technical specialization, becoming the go-to expert for the team in that specific area.

• Coordinate cross-functional resources, including DSAs, SSAs, and Partners, to deliver all-encompassing solutions.

• Shape product direction through structured feedback on customer needs and competitive deficiencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical position.

• Strong coding skills in Python and SQL, including live coding, debugging, and solution development.

• In-depth knowledge of distributed data systems architecture, scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms.

• Proficiency with the Databricks Platform or a proven ability to quickly gain proficiency.

• Development of technical specialization in one area, such as real-time/streaming, ML/AI, data governance, or migrations.

• Capability to lead architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders, including whiteboarding, design reviews, and trade-off analyses.

• Experience with production deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP, considering infrastructure, security, and governance aspects.

• Proven track record of driving platform adoption and consumption growth within accounts.

• Excellent communication skills for translating complex architectures into business value for both technical and executive audiences.

• Willingness to travel to customers up to 30% of the time.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

• Databricks certifications, experience with Snowflake, AWS native services, Azure Synapse, data/AI companies or cloud providers, and industry domain expertise are advantageous.
