This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Take ownership of the complete technical strategy for accounts, from initial discovery to production deployment and growth in consumption.
β’ Lead intricate architecture discussions and design scalable, production-ready solutions that encompass data engineering, ML/AI, and real-time analytics.
β’ Act as a reliable technical advisor to customer architects, engineering leads, and Directors.
β’ Drive technical victories in competitive environments by showcasing Databricks' unique offerings through custom solutions.
β’ Establish and declare an emerging technical specialization, becoming the go-to expert for the team in that specific area.
β’ Coordinate cross-functional resources, including DSAs, SSAs, and Partners, to deliver all-encompassing solutions.
β’ Shape product direction through structured feedback on customer needs and competitive deficiencies.
β’ Over 6 years of experience in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical position.
β’ Strong coding skills in Python and SQL, including live coding, debugging, and solution development.
β’ In-depth knowledge of distributed data systems architecture, scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms.
β’ Proficiency with the Databricks Platform or a proven ability to quickly gain proficiency.
β’ Development of technical specialization in one area, such as real-time/streaming, ML/AI, data governance, or migrations.
β’ Capability to lead architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders, including whiteboarding, design reviews, and trade-off analyses.
β’ Experience with production deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP, considering infrastructure, security, and governance aspects.
β’ Proven track record of driving platform adoption and consumption growth within accounts.
β’ Excellent communication skills for translating complex architectures into business value for both technical and executive audiences.
β’ Willingness to travel to customers up to 30% of the time.
β’ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
β’ Databricks certifications, experience with Snowflake, AWS native services, Azure Synapse, data/AI companies or cloud providers, and industry domain expertise are advantageous.
