Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee the hands-on execution of intricate, high-stakes, or multi-domain projects.

• Implement and set up Azure Virtual Desktop, intricate network designs, multi-tenant security setups, hybrid identity systems, and large-scale migrations.

• Develop High-Level Designs and Low-Level Designs across the Modern Workplace, Cyber Security, Network, and Backup/DR sectors.

• Create Statements of Work outlining scope, deliverables, assumptions, exclusions, acceptance criteria, and milestones.

• Offer technical direction and design assurance throughout the delivery process.

• Assess implementation progress against HLD/LLD specifications and validate configuration choices.

• Serve as a senior technical resource for the Professional Services team.

• Assist in pre-sales activities such as scoping calls, solution qualification, feasibility evaluations, and proposal design contributions.

• Facilitate customer technical design reviews and obtain solution approval.

• Establish and uphold technical standards, deployment checklists, configuration baselines, and design templates.

• Verify UAT results and technical acceptance.

• Guide and develop Level 1 and Level 2 engineers.

• Work collaboratively with Service Desk, NOC, and managed services teams to enhance operational support.

• Engage in vendor relationship management and assess new product functionalities.

• Recognize and communicate project risks, design limitations, and technical dependencies.

• Conduct post-implementation design reviews and document lessons learned.

• Maintain expert-level technical proficiency and advanced vendor certifications across the solution portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in solution design and delivery across all four domains (Modern Workplace, Cyber Security, Backup/DR, and Networking) as well as Azure.

• Proven ability in design authorship (High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, and Statements of Work).

• Technical pre-sales experience.

• Demonstrated history of mentoring and enhancing the technical skills of a delivery team.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), or its current Microsoft successor certification (preferred).

• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100), or its current Microsoft successor certification (preferred).

• Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102), or its current Microsoft successor certification (preferred).

• Sophos Certified Architect for Sophos Firewall and Sophos Central Endpoint/Server, with prerequisite Sophos Certified Engineer certifications (preferred).

• Acronis Certified Engineer (Cyber Protect) (preferred).

• Mimecast Certified Product Professional, Advanced level (Email Security, Cloud Gateway) (preferred).

• PRINCE2 7th Edition Practitioner or equivalent project management certification (advantageous).

• ITIL 4 Foundation or ITIL Version 5 Foundation (advantageous).

• CISSP or equivalent senior security certification; CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) is an acceptable foundational alternative (advantageous).

• CrowdStrike Falcon certifications such as CCFA or CCFR, along with familiarity with Falcon Complete (advantageous).

• Reliable internet connection.

• Appropriate home work setup with a desk and chair in a quiet environment.

• Solution to manage load shedding; working from a public space is not permissible.
