This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess the existing mainframe and mid-range system architectures of clients, focusing on interfaces, data models, and batch processing frameworks.
• Perform ongoing operational analysis of client business processes.
• Recommend future-state business processes and architectural solutions based on industry best practices.
• Oversee the implementation of modern technical solutions while supporting design and solutioning activities.
• Utilize advanced mapping tools and software architectural analysis techniques to improve user experience.
• Work in conjunction with the client’s financial agent to create business workstreams.
• Generate technical drawings, detailed designs, and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Relay requirements to the financial agent oversight and development teams for agile story creation.
• Collaborate with partner organizations and development teams to ensure workflow alignment with federal financial, security, and compliance standards.
• Illustrate and present business workflows utilizing Microsoft Visio or other industry-standard tools.
• Formulate strategies for migrating legacy mainframe applications to contemporary server and cloud environments.
• Offer architecture-level insights for integration, performance optimization, and data migration.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Contribute to modernization roadmaps and data migration strategies.
• Guide development teams in implementing modern design patterns, cloud-native principles, and DevSecOps practices.
• Assist in the testing, validation, and deployment of new and reengineered applications.
• Play a role in crafting winning proposals and executing cloud-based solutions.
• Over 10 years of relevant experience.
• A decade of experience in enterprise application architecture, systems design, and implementation.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Knowledge of mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
• Demonstrated experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Postgres, Tomcat/WebLogic, and Linux.
• Practical experience in modernizing or migrating legacy mainframe applications to distributed or cloud-based systems.
• Strong comprehension of system integration, data migration, and application interoperability between legacy and modern platforms.
• Experience using mapping tools to craft cloud-based solutions involving intricate applications, databases, and interfaces.
• A proven history of developing modernization strategies for hybrid environments that integrate mainframes with custom applications from various vendors.
• Capability to discuss mapping experience and tools used during interviews and exhibit relevant skills and experience.
• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities.
• Must be a US Person; US citizenship is not a requirement.
• Travel requirement is less than 10%.
