
Solicitor/CILEX Lawyer – Property Recoveries

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The position involves working within one of our Property Recoveries teams, primarily focused on claimants.
• Depending on team workloads, the selected candidate will be tasked with:
• Performing general recovery duties that mainly consist of investigatory work across all fast, intermediate, and multi-track files.
• Investigating liability for a variety of general recovery claims, including but not limited to escapes of water, flooding, impact damage, and fire incidents.
• Managing their own caseload, which includes negotiating the quantum and settlement of damages with third parties.
• Collecting witness statements; reaching out to relevant parties for essential documents; drafting letters of claim, initiating proceedings, conducting disclosures, instructing Counsel/experts, and advancing a file through to Trial.
• Assisting with marketing and business development efforts within the team.
• Staying aware of the firm’s core strategies and objectives while handling confidential information according to the firm's data security protocols.
• Ensuring full compliance with client and internal billing and credit control protocols, while demonstrating a high level of financial management for their files.
• Meeting key performance indicators each financial year, which includes a minimum target of 1440 chargeable hours annually.

• Must be a Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer, or possess significant pre-qualification experience.
• Should have an interest in and willingness to learn about insurance property damage law, including fundamental principles of contract law and tort.
• Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with clients, intermediaries, and colleagues.
• Ability to critically analyze factual evidence, pinpoint key legal arguments, and apply them effectively.
• A commitment to professionalism, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude.
