Solar Field Service Technician I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and repair utility-scale solar systems, encompassing inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits.

• Conduct testing, including LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and infrared scans.

• Execute operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks on utility-scale solar plants.

• Review completed work to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

• Enforce safety protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E) while on-site.

• Identify system issues and resolve them on-site.

• Complete work orders, service logs, and necessary documentation.

• Operate and maintain the company vehicle and tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1-2+ years of experience in utility-scale solar (solar farms / ground-mount systems).

• Proven experience with megawatt-scale PV systems (not residential rooftop solar).

• Strong skills in electrical troubleshooting and repair (inverters, DC systems, power electronics).

• Experience in solar O&M / maintenance tasks.

• Familiarity with OSHA / NFPA 70E safety standards.

• Proficient in using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and other testing tools.

• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).

• Capacity to lift and maneuver equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time.

• Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Must adhere to all OSHA and company safety regulations.
