This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Ensure that advanced scientific instruments function at optimal levels.
• Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific while providing outstanding technical support.
• Foster strong relationships with clients to promote essential research and innovation.
• Install, maintain, and repair high-value analytical instruments, including electron microscopes and chromatography systems.
• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues.
• Assist customers in achieving groundbreaking discoveries that contribute to a healthier, cleaner, and safer world.
• Travel across the NYC area and respond to emergency service requests as necessary.
• Bachelor's Degree; no previous experience is necessary.
• Preferred fields of study include Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Biomedical) or a related scientific discipline.
• Strong understanding of electronics and mechanics, with the capability to diagnose problems at the component level.
• Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are a bonus.
• Proven problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems, MS Office, and service management software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and documentation.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 50–75% of the time.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended durations.
• Availability for flexible hours and responsiveness to emergency service requests.
• Must be able to obtain the necessary credentials to access customer facilities.
• Strong organizational skills and effective time management abilities.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently.
• Preferred experience in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced analytical instruments.
• Preferred experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and high voltage equipment.
• Advanced degrees or specialized certifications are advantageous.
