This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a multidisciplinary team of 12 professionals specializing in data engineering, analytics engineering, data science, machine learning engineering, and data support.
• Define the technical vision for Kard’s data platform, enhancing its scalability, reliability, maintainability, and overall organizational value.
• Drive automation and self-service initiatives, minimizing manual workflows and recurring operational tasks.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to embed data, analytics, and machine learning functionalities into products and production systems.
• Ensure that go-to-market teams have prompt access to precise and actionable data.
• Transform recurring stakeholder requests into sustainable, scalable solutions.
• Establish priorities, ownership, and delivery methodologies across platform, product, analytical, and operational tasks.
• Advise on architectural decisions and technical trade-offs related to pipelines, analytics systems, production models, internal tools, and data services.
• Foster an accountable team environment through clear expectations, constructive feedback, career development, hiring, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Report directly to the Director of Data & Platform and help shape team structure, technical strategy, and investment priorities.
• Proven experience managing a technical team that operates across data engineering, analytics, data science, machine learning, or similar software engineering fields.
• Technical proficiency to evaluate system designs, review code and implementation strategies, and guide skilled engineers and data professionals.
• Working knowledge of modern data platforms, data modeling, pipeline orchestration, analytics systems, machine learning lifecycles, cloud infrastructure, and production software methodologies.
• Demonstrated success in enhancing technical platforms, automating manual processes, and developing scalable systems.
• Experience managing a team responsible for platform operations, product development, stakeholder requests, and operational duties.
• Strong decision-making skills in balancing reusable capabilities with immediate business requirements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering and go-to-market teams.
• Experience in setting expectations, managing performance, supporting career advancement, and developing senior technical individual contributors.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities to work independently while ensuring alignment with company and engineering leadership.
• Commitment to promoting an inclusive work environment and enhancing team growth and cohesion.
• Availability during U.S. core business hours and willingness to travel for company meetings.
• Bonus: Experience in fintech, payments, card-linked offers, loyalty programs, or transaction-heavy products.
