Software Engineering Manager – Core Workspaces

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team within the Workspaces organization.

• Establish the technical direction for the agent harness, integrations, and workflows.

• Participate in architectural and implementation decision-making.

• Advance agent execution, tool utilization, context management, streaming, and long-running workflows.

• Enhance provider-agnostic architecture as models and capabilities evolve.

• Collaborate with Product and Design to transform agent capabilities into valuable developer experiences.

• Enhance reliability, performance, and operability across agentic systems.

• Mentor engineers, elevate the technical standards, and clarify priorities and trade-offs.

• Develop and enhance systems supporting Coder's agentic development experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing and developing software engineering teams.

• Strong hands-on engineering expertise with React and TypeScript.

• Proficiency in Go.

• Practical experience in building systems related to LLMs and agentic workflows.

• Familiarity with model APIs, tool invocation, context management, or agent loops.

• Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems.

• Working knowledge of AWS.

• Strong technical judgment and ability to navigate through ambiguity.

• History of fostering engineer growth while upholding a high execution standard.

• Bonus: Experience in developing coding agents, developer tools, or cloud development environments.

• Bonus: Familiarity with MCP, agent tools, or multi-agent systems.

• Bonus: Experience with remote execution, sandboxing, or isolated compute environments.
