Software Engineering Manager

📋 Description

• Recruit, mentor, and cultivate engineering talent

• Establish the technical vision for various projects

• Ensure adherence to best practices regarding scalability, performance, and security

• Guide architectural decisions while upholding technical excellence

• Lead critical initiatives from inception to delivery

• Align project execution with the strategic goals of the Function

• Develop systems that can scale alongside the company's growth

• Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams

• Ensure engineering outcomes are in sync with member experience and business objectives

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Establish engineering practices that support high velocity and quality

• Advocate for Agile methodologies, CI/CD, testing, measurement, and iteration

• Remain updated with emerging technologies

• Inspire innovative solutions to challenges in healthcare

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in software engineering

• Minimum of 3 years in a formal leadership or management position

• Demonstrated success in recruiting, mentoring, and scaling high-performing teams, preferably in a startup setting

• Strong proficiency in Python

• Experience in developing large-scale distributed systems

• Familiarity with AWS and Google Cloud platforms

• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes

• Proven experience in driving engineering processes that balance speed and quality

• Familiarity with Agile practices, test-driven development, and continuous integration/deployment

• Ability to lead and foster culture within a distributed team environment

• Excellent communication skills with a knack for building trust across different time zones

• Passionate about innovation in healthcare

• Proactive mindset with the ability to make decisions in uncertain situations

• Adaptable to evolving business requirements

• Strong communication abilities

• Comfortable working in remote environments

• Dedicated to continuous improvement

• Nice-to-have: Background in Data Engineering

• Nice-to-have: Proficiency in React, React Native, GCP, and Postgres

• Nice-to-have: Experience in building and deploying machine learning services

• Nice-to-have: Startup experience, particularly as a former founder or early engineering hire

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Oura, Whoop, Apple Watch, and CGMs
