Software Engineer – Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Engage with internal stakeholders to design, configure, maintain, and promote both internal and external applications while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.

• Oversee, test, and enhance software for reliability and adherence to architectural guidelines.

• Contribute to the continuous delivery of code utilizing deployment tools and automated testing processes.

• Scale and sustain applications for dynamic teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Partner with software engineers, product managers, analysts, and stakeholders to provide customer-centric solutions.

• Utilize GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, and debugging, adhering to prompting and code-review standards.

• Design and implement Generative AI features such as chat interfaces, document summarization, intelligent search, and automated content generation using Azure OpenAI Service and related APIs.

• Construct and integrate RAG pipelines with vector databases, including Azure AI Search, Pinecone, and pgvector.

• Implement Responsible AI practices, focusing on bias awareness, PII management, and content safety reviews.

• Conduct operational maintenance, troubleshooting, and support for backend systems.

• Function as a member of an autonomous agile team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as computer science, engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages.

• Familiarity with web and cross-platform technologies.

• Practical experience with Git and code management methodologies.

• Knowledge of continuous delivery practices and automated testing.

• Experience with both relational and unstructured data repositories.

• Understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Lean, or other agile methodologies.

• Proficiency in React.

• Knowledge of MS VB and C# .NET frameworks, including Web Forms and Windows Forms, as well as .NET Web API, Entity Framework 6.4, MVC Pattern, and SPA Framework.

• Familiarity with JavaScript and React JS.

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle stored procedures/scripts.

• Proficient in Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage Account, Azure Key Vault, Azure Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Azure App Service, Azure VMs, and Azure Table Storage.

• Experience using Azure DevOps CI/CD.

• Working knowledge of GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants, including effective prompting and reviewing AI-generated code for quality and security.

• Understanding of Generative AI/LLM concepts, Azure OpenAI Service, prompt engineering, RAG, and vector databases.

• Awareness of Responsible AI principles, including bias management, PII handling, and content safety.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with experience using MS Teams.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-disciplinary team.

• Capacity to maintain the confidentiality of products and data.

• Preferred: Experience with Dapper, RESTful API/Web API, WCAG 2.1, ARIA, Power BI, Selenium, or comparable testing frameworks.

• Preferred: Azure AI certification or equivalent demonstrated expertise.

• Preferred: Coursework, certifications, or project experience in machine learning, NLP, or applied AI/ML.

• Availability to work weekends may be required.
