Software Engineer, Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Construct and safeguard North's architecture.

• Develop security features for production, including OIDC/OAuth flows and session management.

• Write secure code that manages OIDC tokens, user claims, and sensitive information.

• Implement best practices for JWT validation and encryption.

• Establish authentication mechanisms, user login protocols, token management, and authorization checks.

• Integrate new tools to bolster North's security capabilities.

• Design and execute secret management within Kubernetes clusters, focusing on encryption and RBAC.

• Effectively communicate security best practices to stakeholders.

• Contribute to secure-by-design software engineering for Cohere's enterprise AI products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing user-facing security features in production systems.

• Proven experience in production Python development.

• Strong understanding of OIDC/OAuth 2.0, JWT validation, and token lifecycle management.

• Practical Kubernetes experience in both development and production contexts.

• Familiarity with GCP, AWS, Azure, or hybrid/multi-cloud environments.

• Proficient in working across the technology stack.

• Ability to articulate security concepts clearly to non-security engineers and stakeholders.

• Capacity to excel in dynamic environments where priorities may shift rapidly.

• Experience with AI/ML systems or LLM-based applications.
