Software Engineer, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, maintain, and enhance Python features and services for a bespoke AI intelligence solution.

• Work closely on a daily basis with a senior engineer to determine architecture and technical strategy.

• Deliver small, thoroughly tested updates consistently while ensuring progress is transparent to both the team and the client.

• Engage in regular sync meetings and actively communicate status updates, potential risks, and obstacles.

• Quickly adapt to changes in client priorities.

• Provide support for LLM and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) components as necessary.

• Contribute to the development of a custom AI intelligence tool for a US-based client as part of Pyyne’s technology consulting services.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in Python; a minimum of 2 years of professional experience with Python.

• Practical experience with async Python (asyncio) and developing REST APIs (FastAPI or similar).

• Strong SQL capabilities and experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM (e.g., SQLAlchemy), including schema migrations.

• Familiarity with writing automated tests using pytest.

• Proficient in Git.

• Ability to work autonomously on well-defined tasks and seek assistance when necessary.

• Excellent, proactive communication skills and a focus on delivery.

• High proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Preferred: experience with LLMs and RAG, pgvector or other vector databases, Docker, cloud deployment (AWS preferred), message queues/background workers (e.g., SQS), and Terraform.

• Candidates must be located remotely in Brazil or within the Buenos Aires metro area in Argentina.
