Software Engineer – Product Quality

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage the inbound bug pipeline for the Fiscal.ai Terminal, which includes Sentry issues, customer-reported problems, and self-identified issues.

• Reproduce, prioritize, resolve, or direct every bug accordingly.

• Address bugs across the React/Next.js frontend, Cloudflare Workers backend, and data layer.

• Investigate issues to uncover their root causes rather than merely addressing symptoms.

• Design and develop the Terminal’s end-to-end testing framework utilizing Playwright.

• Execute end-to-end tests in CI against preview deployments.

• Increase regression coverage for financials, charting, screening, portfolio management, authentication, subscriptions, and paywall workflows.

• Write unit and integration tests in conjunction with bug fixes.

• Develop debugging guides, testing conventions, and tools for the broader team.

• Collaborate with engineers developing the Terminal and the Fiscal.ai data infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Write efficient code swiftly and directly address issues rather than solely submitting tickets.

• Proficient in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.

• Hands-on experience in creating end-to-end test automation, preferably with Playwright.

• Familiarity with unit testing using Vitest or Jest.

• Experience in executing tests in CI.

• Strong full-stack debugging capabilities utilizing browser devtools, network traces, server logs, error monitoring, and database queries.

• Experienced in testing and debugging data-intensive applications where accuracy is crucial, such as finance or analytics.

• Demonstrable experience or a strong interest in investing and finance.

• Ability to interpret an income statement, comprehend LTM and NTM, and identify obviously incorrect P/E ratios or free cash flow figures.

• Knowledge of paid data products, subscription tiers, entitlements, and paywalls.

• Experience or interest in AI technologies, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Familiarity with using AI coding agents as part of daily tasks.

• Strong attention to design, UI, and UX.

• Located in Canada.
