Software Engineer, Infrastructure – Go

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and manage versioned REST and gRPC APIs for bare-metal server lifecycle management, MachineType definitions, and cluster CRUD functionalities.

• Construct asynchronous workflows for server enrollment, inspection, OS provisioning, and cluster initialization.

• Provide persistent status updates to callers throughout the provisioning processes.

• Develop and uphold consoles and interfaces that visualize hardware inventory, provisioning status, and cluster health.

• Design error handling frameworks, idempotency assurances, and reconciliation loops to ensure dependable long-duration provisioning operations.

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of infrastructure services, covering Server and MachineType APIs, provisioning workflows, and reconciliation loops.

• Develop control-plane infrastructure services that support Mirantis' GPU-as-a-Service platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in designing RESTful APIs or gRPC services.

• Knowledge of API versioning and gateway design patterns.

• Proficiency in Go is preferred for backend/Kubernetes environments.

• In-depth understanding of Kubernetes primitives and controller/reconciler design patterns.

• Experience with k0rdent, Metal3, and Cluster API.

• Practical experience with bare-metal provisioning processes, including BMC/Redfish, PXE/iPXE, image management, and hardware inspections.

• Experience in building workflow-driven or event-driven systems like Temporal.

• Familiarity with long-running operations and ensuring state consistency across retries and failures.

• Experience in creating informers or reconciliation bridges.

• Knowledge of strict multi-tenant data and network isolation.

• Familiarity with Terraform/OpenTofu and GitOps-driven configurations using ArgoCD or Flux.

• Understanding of GPU server hardware, DPUs/NICs, and high-performance data center networks.
