This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Decompose larger projects into smaller tasks, deliver them in various phases, and collaborate to ensure timely completion.
• Work closely with product management, design, and analytics teams during the ideation and technical decision-making processes.
• Clearly communicate technical constraints and assess risks and trade-offs.
• Establish and track metrics for team outputs and escalate issues as necessary.
• Assist with operational reliability, routine maintenance activities, and on-call responsibilities.
• Engage in growth and development initiatives, including conducting interviews.
• Design and manage systems that ensure accuracy in post-transaction customer accounts and resolve issues related to Affirm Card transactions.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and cross-functional partner teams to enhance customer-facing results.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in a software engineering role.
• Experience in designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
• Proficient in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with the building blocks of distributed systems.
• Knowledge of AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Capability to design solutions that interact with multiple software components.
• Ability to produce clear, well-tested, and maintainable code.
• Skilled in navigating a large codebase and debugging code written by others.
• Experience in providing constructive feedback through code reviews.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
