Software Engineer, Elixir - Telephony

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement innovative applications that contribute to the Telnyx Telephony platform.

• Oversee solutions from initial system design and prototyping to application development and data integration.

• Utilize Telnyx products, open source technologies, and team-developed solutions to create significant technical impact.

• Address communication challenges faced by users globally.

• Design, construct, and manage APIs, services, and systems within Telnyx’s telephony engineering teams.

• Collaborate with engineers throughout the company to develop new telephony features on a large scale.

• Enhance engineering standards, tools, and processes.

• Identify, enhance, and resolve issues pertaining to latency, scalability, and performance of core telephony infrastructure.

• Employ AI agents to expedite software development, troubleshoot intricate issues, and support deployments and operational workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience using the Elixir programming language.

• Extensive knowledge of microservice architecture patterns and their anti-patterns.

• Comprehension of the challenges associated with concurrent and distributed programming.

• A thoughtful approach to decision-making, understanding when to act swiftly and when to focus on long-term optimization.

• A genuine interest in thriving within a fast-paced, product-driven atmosphere.

• Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies, and enjoy sharing your acquired knowledge.

• Bonus: Familiarity with SIP and other VoIP-related protocols and technologies such as RTP, WebRTC, ICE, STUN, TURN.

• Bonus: Experience with tools like Consul, Docker, Kubernetes, Github Actions, Ansible, Grafana, Graylog, and Prometheus.
