Senior Software Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable solutions and enhancements for NinjaOne's IT Operations product suite.

• Create new features and maintain existing functionalities.

• Architect and build high-availability software systems that support global operations.

• Lead the development of extensive software applications.

• Influence essential architectural choices while balancing technical debt, performance, scalability, and business requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make technical decisions and drive improvements.

• Mentor junior engineers and establish technical standards.

• Take ownership of technical initiatives and proactively tackle challenges using support-team data.

• Implement quality assurance methodologies and deliver resilient, high-performance software.

• Take on additional responsibilities as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in Java software development, particularly in product applications.

• More than 5 years of experience with highly scalable systems.

• Demonstrated experience in scaling systems and addressing complex system design challenges.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) design principles and practices.

• Proficiency in API design and RESTful services.

• Experience with frameworks such as Spring.

• Skilled in relational database design and development.

• Familiarity with caching systems.

• Experience with Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang, and Postgres is advantageous.

• Experience in deploying scalable cloud services on AWS is a plus.

• Exposure to data warehousing and testing/automation tools is beneficial.

• Must reside in one of the specified eligible U.S. states.
