Software Engineer, ATM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kazakhstan, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop middleware that connects Salmon's ATM network to backend systems as it transitions from a pilot phase to thousands of machines across the Philippines.

• Engage in real-time transaction processing between ATM hardware and Salmon's backend, covering authorization, reversals, and reconciliation.

• Directly integrate with a Hardware Security Module (HSM) for PIN translation, key management, and cryptographic tasks.

• Collaborate with teams focused on hardware, infrastructure, security, compliance, and vendors, including SmartDico.

• Design, construct, and sustain backend services for the ATM middleware platform.

• Take ownership of ISO 8583 message flows between the ATM fleet and the processing switch.

• Develop and maintain connections with card schemes and the ATM middleware vendor.

• Enhance APIs and system integrations throughout the ATM stack, including anti-fraud measures and core banking connections.

• Assist in production monitoring, incident investigation, and resolution for ATM transaction services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience as a Software/Backend Engineer, preferably in fintech, banking, or payment processing sectors.

• Proficiency in microservice architecture, API design, and constructing system integrations from the ground up.

• Familiarity with ISO 8583 or comparable financial messaging protocols.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/EKS), containerized deployments, and GitLab/GitOps CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong SQL capabilities for data analysis and validation tasks.

• Proficient in English at a B2 level or higher, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
