Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and deploy features in the React/TypeScript Chrome extension and web applications.

• Create fast, user-friendly, polished, and robust interfaces for third-party web pages.

• Collaborate on UI/UX design, which includes wireframes, interaction patterns, and visual refinement.

• Contribute to data models and APIs utilizing Node.js and MongoDB.

• Enhance support across various websites, learning platforms, Google Workspace tools, and PDF materials.

• Aid in the interfaces and data used to assess and enhance AI-generated scaffolds.

• Contribute to the privacy, security, and reliability as the product expands.

• Work closely with the Head of Engineering and a small, experienced team.

• Take initiative, resolve issues independently, and help cultivate the engineering culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in React and TypeScript; experience in production front-end development.

• Knowledgeable in component design, state management, and performance optimization.

• Comfortable reading and writing backend code.

• Possess a systems thinking approach to data modeling, storage, and data flow.

• UI/UX design sensibility with the ability to influence interface decisions.

• Product-oriented mindset, capable of thinking beyond individual tasks.

• Practical, resourceful, and execution-focused attitude.

• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues, including educators.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and taking on various roles.

• Experience with Chrome extensions or browser platforms is a plus.

• Familiarity with Node.js, MongoDB, and AWS is advantageous.

• Knowledge of Figma or similar design tools is a bonus.

• Experience in creating accessible interfaces is preferred.

• Familiarity with LLM APIs or AI-driven products is a plus.

• A strong sense of empathy for education, accessibility, multilingual learners, or special education is desirable.
