Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Join the Web Platform team that oversees SmartAsset’s content management system architecture.

• Develop and transition to the new content management system across both front-end and back-end services.

• Operate and scale SmartAsset’s website and other web products as part of an Agile Scrum team.

• Work in collaboration with the product team and stakeholders to fulfill sprint and triage obligations.

• Engage in significant technical decisions and document enhancements in both technical processes and workflows.

• Lead technical designs and guarantee the successful execution of the team’s roadmap.

• Contribute to decisions regarding technology, tools, and processes.

• Mentor and coach other members of the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in building, maintaining, and scaling highly available and performant web platforms using Java (or a similar language).

• Extensive expertise in ReactJS and NodeJS for developing modular and modern web applications.

• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.

• Proficient in version control with Git.

• Experience in designing and implementing intricate cloud solutions, preferably with AWS.

• Established track record of driving project and product success within Agile settings.

• Capability to identify risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.

• Ability to excel in fast-paced, cross-functional teams with a startup mindset.

• Familiarity with the principle of least privilege, application structure, and OOP patterns (preferred).

• Experience in working or developing within a CI/CD environment (preferred).

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation (preferred).

• Experience with operating incidents, releases, problem, and change management processes (preferred).

• Familiarity with using or integrating headless WordPress or other Content Management systems (preferred).

• Ability to endure prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to communicate effectively via phone calls and/or video conferences.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
