Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain web-based applications for Greenhouse.

• Assist in Talent Matching, Talent Rediscovery, and related employer-facing functionalities.

• Develop product capabilities along with search and matching systems throughout the technology stack.

• Utilize OpenSearch or Elasticsearch for tasks such as search, indexing, query design, relevance tuning, and performance optimization.

• Implement AI techniques for matching, ranking, and enhancing search relevance within production applications.

• Create new features and resolve existing bugs.

• Ensure the stability and performance of products for end-users.

• Work in collaboration with Product, Design, Data, Applied ML, and distributed engineering teams.

• Participate in the evaluation, observability, testing, and feedback processes for search or matching systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production software development.

• Proficiency in Ruby, C#, Java, or Python.

• Ruby on Rails experience is preferred.

• Solid fundamentals in JavaScript or TypeScript, including experience with React.

• Full-stack expertise covering backend systems, APIs, data modeling, and contemporary frontend development.

• Production-level experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, focusing on indexing, query design, relevance tuning, and performance aspects.

• Background in building or engaging with search, ranking, recommendation, or matching systems.

• Practical experience in applying AI/ML methodologies to production environments.

• Proven ability to collaborate with Product and Design teams in complex, user-facing scenarios.

• Capability to write clean, efficient, maintainable, and scalable production code.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, bridging both technical and non-technical groups.

• Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch at scale.

• Familiarity with semantic search, embeddings, ranking, recommendation, or matching systems.

• Experience in developing evaluation, observability, testing, and feedback mechanisms for search or matching systems.

• Knowledge of analytical databases.

• Experience in product-oriented engineering teams alongside Product, Design, Data, and ML.

• Strong awareness of the trade-offs between relevance, latency, reliability, infrastructure costs, and user experience.

• Experience working in distributed or remote engineering settings.

• Must reside in Argentina.
