Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Independently design and test sophisticated software solutions.

• Release and verify software functionality.

• Assist in software support, resolving incidents, and conducting blameless post-mortems.

• Create reusable code modules and patterns for the team.

• Integrate AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar into daily tasks.

• Engage in code and design reviews.

• Prepare software documentation and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Support junior colleagues in understanding and completing their tasks.

• May be required to join an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends, to maintain production systems and ensure service reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven ability to solve problems through software development using established methodologies.

• Proficient in programming languages, frameworks, and platforms such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Angular, or AWS.

• Familiarity with AI code generation tools like GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.

• Experience in creating reusable software modules or patterns.

• Background in conducting integration tests, assisting with software releases, and providing ongoing support.

• Knowledge of Agile software development practices and artifacts, including user stories, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Preferred: 3 years of experience in a professional software engineering role or a similar position.

• Preferred: Experience in developing software modules or patterns utilized by the team.

• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud development or possession of a cloud provider certification.

• Preferred: Experience with supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).

• Preferred: Agile certification.

• Preferred: Experience mentoring and developing others.

• Preferred: Experience providing thought leadership to shape software development practices.
