This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop and enhance services that capture, ingest, and process meeting audio, video, metadata, and real-time events.
• Architect dependable systems that adapt to varying network conditions, platform behaviors, permissions, media formats, and third-party APIs.
• Create tools and observability features to identify, diagnose, replicate, and resolve intricate recording failures.
• Take ownership of features and systems from technical design through implementation, rollout, monitoring, and post-release iteration.
• Examine production challenges that span services, infrastructure, media, and integrations.
• Collaborate with Product, SRE, Support, and engineering teams to transform real-world scenarios into platform enhancements.
• Utilize AI coding agents and assist in developing tools and practices that enhance software development.
• Rapidly learn new systems and explore challenging problems to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Proven experience in building and managing production-critical systems where reliability, latency, throughput, or consistency significantly impact user experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or another contemporary backend programming language.
• Capability to swiftly become productive in an unfamiliar codebase.
• Excellent judgment in balancing delivery speed, system reliability, technical debt, and long-term platform investments.
• Demonstrated history of owning software through rollout, observability, production support, and real-world iteration.
• Extensive practical experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar tools.
• Proven track record of developing agentic workflows, tools, or practices that significantly enhance software development.
• Strong communication skills and effective collaboration across Engineering, Product, SRE, Support, and other teams.
• Willingness to share knowledge and assist teammates in solving challenging problems.
• Nice to have: experience with real-time media, audio/video processing, WebRTC, streaming systems, or latency-sensitive infrastructure.
• Nice to have: distributed job processing, event-driven systems, queues, or high-volume asynchronous workloads.
• Nice to have: FFmpeg, codecs, containers, transcoding, or synchronization.
• Nice to have: observability, incident response, or operational practices for complex production systems.
• Nice to have: Django, Python, GraphQL, Kubernetes, or cloud infrastructure.
• Nice to have: experience in a high-growth product company or startup environment.
• Candidates must be located in Canada.

• Optional office space available in Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto.
