This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
β’ Take ownership of epics from start to finish after receiving them from Product, encompassing story writing, estimation, delivery, and release.
β’ Develop features using TypeScript/Node for the backend and React for the frontend, tackling significant and complex challenges within the team's scope.
β’ Regularly and accurately report on the progress of epics, while proactively identifying risks before they escalate into issues.
β’ Collaborate with the Product Manager and senior engineers on decisions regarding technical design and architecture.
β’ Incorporate AI coding tools as a standard component of the workflow, while meticulously reviewing their outputs.
β’ Lead company-wide demonstrations of completed epic work.
β’ Evaluate teammates' code for design issues, edge cases, and testing deficiencies.
β’ Engage in scrum ceremonies, including refinement, sprint kick-off, standup meetings, demos, and retrospectives.
β’ Work closely with Product, QA, and UX teams throughout the delivery process.
β’ Investigate and resolve issues identified during QA, UAT, and production phases.
β’ At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience in developing and deploying production software.
β’ In-depth knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript, with substantial expertise in both Node.js and React.
β’ Proven experience in managing a significant piece of work from vague requirements to successfully released software.
β’ Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, and the ability to reason about data models.
β’ Experience with microservices, Docker, and a cloud platform such as AWS.
β’ A habit of automated testing rather than treating it as an afterthought.
β’ Practical experience with AI coding assistants, along with the discernment to identify incorrect outputs.
β’ Strong written communication skills and a commanding grasp of the English language.
β’ Ability to navigate technical disagreements with evidence and to adapt your perspective when new evidence arises.
β’ Authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada.
β’ Capability to pass a comprehensive background check, which is mandatory for this role.
β’ Nice to have: Experience in mentoring or onboarding fellow engineers.
