Software Engineer 2 – Full Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of epics from start to finish after receiving them from Product, encompassing story writing, estimation, delivery, and release.

• Develop features using TypeScript/Node for the backend and React for the frontend, tackling significant and complex challenges within the team's scope.

• Regularly and accurately report on the progress of epics, while proactively identifying risks before they escalate into issues.

• Collaborate with the Product Manager and senior engineers on decisions regarding technical design and architecture.

• Incorporate AI coding tools as a standard component of the workflow, while meticulously reviewing their outputs.

• Lead company-wide demonstrations of completed epic work.

• Evaluate teammates' code for design issues, edge cases, and testing deficiencies.

• Engage in scrum ceremonies, including refinement, sprint kick-off, standup meetings, demos, and retrospectives.

• Work closely with Product, QA, and UX teams throughout the delivery process.

• Investigate and resolve issues identified during QA, UAT, and production phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience in developing and deploying production software.

• In-depth knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript, with substantial expertise in both Node.js and React.

• Proven experience in managing a significant piece of work from vague requirements to successfully released software.

• Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, and the ability to reason about data models.

• Experience with microservices, Docker, and a cloud platform such as AWS.

• A habit of automated testing rather than treating it as an afterthought.

• Practical experience with AI coding assistants, along with the discernment to identify incorrect outputs.

• Strong written communication skills and a commanding grasp of the English language.

• Ability to navigate technical disagreements with evidence and to adapt your perspective when new evidence arises.

• Authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada.

• Capability to pass a comprehensive background check, which is mandatory for this role.

• Nice to have: Experience in mentoring or onboarding fellow engineers.

• Nice to have: A background in finance, brokerage, trading, custody, or blockchain.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with regulated environments and the audit trails they necessitate.

• Nice to have: Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
