Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Establish and execute automated testing strategies for both web and desktop applications.

• Create and perform functional, regression, performance, and compatibility test cases.

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable test automation frameworks utilizing Playwright or Selenium with C# or JavaScript.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, including Azure DevOps and Jenkins.

• Enhance and support internally developed automation tools and testing infrastructure.

• Create custom automation tools and utilities to optimize QA activities and boost testing efficiency.

• Assess QA workflows and identify process gaps with tailored utilities.

• Utilize AI and machine learning to automate repetitive QA tasks and enhance productivity.

• Advocate for AI-driven testing tools to detect risks, elevate test accuracy, and broaden test coverage.

• Analyze automation test outcomes using advanced analytics and AI-supported reporting tools.

• Remain updated with automation and AI-enabled QA practices, tools, and methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 3 years of experience in automation testing, particularly for web and desktop applications.

• Proficient in C# or JavaScript, with practical experience in developing robust automated test scripts.

• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or comparable automation frameworks.

• Familiarity with Visual Studio, npm, and related testing libraries such as Mocha or Jest.

• Understanding of AI-assisted automation testing, including self-healing tests, AI-generated test scripts, machine learning-based test impact analysis, and visual validation with AI tools.

• Knowledge of CI/CD processes and test automation integration using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.

• Comprehension of QA methodologies, SDLC/STLC, and best practices in test automation.

• Experience in testing across various browsers and desktop platforms.

• Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within regional and cross-functional teams.

• Proactive approach with solid analytical and automation problem-solving abilities.

• Comfortable working in an Agile, fast-paced environment.

• Preferred: experience in mentoring or leading automation testers.

• Preferred: enterprise-level automation testing for large-scale or complex software systems.

• Preferred: strong programming capabilities with over 3 years of experience in C#, including custom test automation tools and frameworks.

• Preferred: Windows administration and PowerShell scripting experience.

• Preferred: designing and implementing automation frameworks.

• Preferred: methodologies for API automation, performance testing, and security testing.

• Preferred: familiarity with Azure DevOps for test management, pipeline integration, and CI/CD automation workflows.

• Preferred: integration of automation tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Git, and Jenkins.

• Preferred: experience with AI-augmented testing platforms and AI/ML techniques.

• Preferred: knowledge of the machine learning lifecycle, including data preparation, model training, validation, and deployment.

• Preferred: understanding of Responsible AI principles, including fairness, bias mitigation, and model explainability.

• Preferred: experience in developing test plans and test scenarios.

• Preferred: strategies for automation testing and execution in Agile or DevOps environments.
